Extreme Couponing

So it has been a while since I have been able to blog which makes me sad! It is hard when you have a million ideas in your head and a million things going on to take the time to sit down and write. This is a concept that I am learning in my grad classes, self-care, which is extremely important for mental health counselors. So lets get down to it!

I have found a new obsession which is extreme couponing! Well, since we are New England, getting 2 cains mayos for $3 is extreme! My plan has been to attack the internet and print off coups that I deem neccessary to my life. I have also been checking my local flyers to see that deals they have and then find coupons for those items. I have been looking at CVS, Shaws, Walgreens and Stop n' shop. Some people at work were saying I was a bit obsessed, I mean doesn't everyone go to the bar for drinks and clip coupons?
I am still waiting for a return on investment but for now I am taking the steps to try and save money. My favorite website for coupons and tips is :

Using this site I set up my binder and got some great tips on where to start! One thing I did notice when I went to the grocery store the other day, there were so many sales not in the flyer or online. :( Soo I am going to have to research more to see if the coupon gods have more tips on that issue.

I have also taken a note from my favorite blogger, Autumn - Autumn Mae's road to the big day and started a refab project! A few weeks ago I was helping my mom clean out the worlds storage locker, a.k.a my basement and found a treasure! This hutch has been in my parents house since they moved in about 25 years ago now. It is a magnavox record player cabinet that was then used for my mother's sewing storage, then a home for extra canned good and most recently, collecting dust in my basement. So we loaded up the truck and brought it to my house. I could not wait to get my mouse sander out and start with my project!

Next I needed the proper tools...
Hammer, mouse sander, screw driver and a silver bullet!
I have some new photos coming of the current status of my DIY project!

Bring on the Fall!

Oh boy have things been busy lately. Between being a young working professional business lady, a super smart brainiac trying to conquer the counseling world in grad school, my budding social life, attempting to stay super fly and pretty, keeping thehouse Better Homes and Garden perfect (yeah keep dreaming Meaghan) and spending time with Ryan and Bosco! With all of that said, I really did miss my blog and working on all that it can become. Let me attempt to recap what has been happening in the Sherman household.
Since it is the beginning of fall, it is time for pumpkins, apple pies, long sleeves and hot
chocolate and decorating!!!! My best friend Amber also known as AmBeezy, B bop, Twisty has a little farmers market down the street from her in Attleboro. So we ventured there to get pumpkins and corn stalks to put on my mailbox.

One of my biggest issues with Bosco right now is his random peeing in the house. My new favorite thing to do is to put vinegar in the wash with towels and rugs that he had an accident on. It completely gets rid of the smell! Whoo! Also bleach has become my best friend, the hardwoods soak up everything so bleach makes an apperance on a weekly basis.

Ryan's 28th birthday was this past week so I planned a surprise party with the help
of all our amazing friends of course! From the beginning I wanted to make a football cake. Last year I made a golf themed cake for him which was a big hit.
I went to iParty and picked up the football shaped pan for about $11.99 and the frosting was from a local grocery store. I used a frosting tip to create the grass for the field on the cupcakes with a tinted green vanilla frosting underneath. The football is yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

Here is the finished product! Everyone seemed to love it and it the birthday boy especially!

Also for the party, I wanted to incorporate a football shaped pinata but not filled with candy but a few other party essentials for 28 year old men... nips and cigars! This was also a big hit at the party!
So there is just a quick overview of some of the things I have been up to! So never miss a chance to live.create.grow!

Fresh start

So this being the first post of my new blog, puts so much pressure on me to make sure it is funny, whitty and informative. So much so, that you will come back and read more! Well since it is Monday, none of that will happen and you may have to come back this week to get the good material.

Friday it officially became Autumn, which means that I am officially excited! I love Fall, the pumpkins, leaves falling, the ability to wear boots, jeggins and a sweater without sweating. Also Fall sports! Soccer, Football, there is nothing better. This weekend Ryan and I met up with our friends from puppy class to catch their sons football game. It was not as "fallish" as I would have liked it but still a really fun game!

My house has so many windows, but they are naked, leaving me vunerable to predators like the reflection of the microwave in the kitchen window causing me to freak out and get scared! So this weekend it was time to get some curtains. Off to Anne & Hope with zero idea what I wanted and my friend J.P with the eye for design we found a great option for my kitchen!

The rugs and curtains were from Ann & Hope in Seekonk while the modern wall art was a clearance find from Khols! This is all for now, I have to save some gems for the rest of the week!
